South East London Integrated Care System (SEL ICS) board members recently visited Greenwich, and also went to Lewisham and Greenwich Trust’s (LGT) Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH), seeing firsthand the improvements being made to help patients and south east London communities.

The day included a visit to QEH’s new Same Day Emergency Care Unit, how this was working with the Urgent Treatment Centre run by Greenwich Health, local GP Federation, and discussions about the improvement plans in place to better patient outcomes and improve flow.

Among other innovations and developments, board members also learned about how the integration across health and social care was progressing, with examples around Frailty, Assistive Technology Enabled Care, and developments in the area of Children’s Mental Health and Wellbeing, including the crucial role of Wellbeing Hubs in schools.

Anu Singh, South East London ICB Non Executive Director, said:

“I was really impressed with the visit, not just with the brilliant content around what we are imaginatively building for our younglings and for our frailty cohorts – but equally with the everyday manner these challenges were being bundled up into a ‘can do, lets sort it’, super high degree of energy, inspiration and vision.”
