There are over 6,000 voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations across south east London. They are dedicated to delivering essential services, supporting underserved communities, and fostering a more inclusive, connected, and happy society.
But despite their critical role, the VCSE sector has historically been underrepresented in strategic healthcare planning and supported to respond to local needs. NHS South East London is working with these groups to change that.
As a demonstration of that commitment, we are thrilled to announce the new South East London Voluntary, Community, and Social Enterprise (SEL VCSE) Charter. This Charter will strengthen the vital partnership between VCSE organisations and the NHS in south east London.
The Charter, co-developed by NHS South East London and the VCSE Strategic Alliance, is our commitment to collaborative working between us. It will ensure that the unique insights and expertise of the VCSE sector are recognised and take into account in plans to support the health and care of residents in south east London.
Our key commitments include:
The Power of Partnership
