Vaccines are the most effective way to prevent many infectious diseases. Your GP may have recently contacted you because their records show that you may have an illness or condition that increases your risk of complications from illnesses such as Flu. Even if your condition is well managed and/or under control, the NHS still recommend vaccination to increase your protection.

Who Can Get a Free NHS Flu Vaccine?
You are eligible for a free flu vaccine this winter if you:
- Are aged 65 or over (including those turning 65 by 31 March 2025)
- Have certain long-term health conditions
- Are pregnant
- Live in a care home
- Are the main carer for an older or disabled person
- Live with someone with a weakened immune system
- Are a frontline health or social care worker (available through your employer)
The children’s flu vaccine is recommended for:
- children aged 2-3 years
- school aged children
- children aged 6 months to 17 years with certain long term health conditions
