SEL ICB’s new set of statutory Equality Objectives have now been developed and published. These are in line with our work on the Equality Delivery System 2022 to ensure that our new objectives are evidence-based and fully engaged with.
These objectives, which will be refreshed annually, focus on reducing inequalities, improving workforce capacity, skills and wellbeing, and ensuring equitable and inclusive access, experience and outcomes for people and communities who use our services or staff who are employed by the ICB.
The new Equality Objectives fall broadly into these four categories:
Improving data quality
Improving access and engagement
Building workplace culture
Strengthening inclusive leadership
Continue collecting and expanding demographic data. Broaden reported measures to improve understanding of access, including waiting times.
Strengthen service user, patient, and caregiver involvement and communication to develop and improve services.
Provide line manager training to develop better skills on a range of topics. Reinforce ‘zero-tolerance’ to bullying, harassment, and violence through training and communications.
Embed individual and collective EDI objectives for Board members. Strengthen EDI awareness among senior leaders through events and activities.
