Crays Collaborative PCN Hosts Ladies’ Health Event

09 Apr 2025

On Tuesday 8 April 2025, The Crays Collaborative Primary Care Network (PCN) hosted a Ladies’ Health Night at Temple United Reformed Church. The event provided an opportunity for local women to access health information, screenings, and wellbeing support in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

A Community-Centred Approach to Women’s Health

Running from 5pm to 7pm, the evening featured a range of activities and health checks, all designed to promote preventative healthcare and early detection. Attendees enjoyed light refreshments while engaging with healthcare professionals and community groups.

Key highlights of the event included:

  • Health promotion and cancer awareness: Information on early cancer screening and preventative health measures.
  • Vital 5 health checks: Attendees could have their height, weight, BMI, and blood pressure measured.
  • Exercise and wellbeing: An exercise session encouraged participants to incorporate movement into their daily routines.
  • Raffle: Guests received raffle tickets for a chance to win prizes, making the evening both informative and enjoyable.

Encouraging Preventative Healthcare

The event provided a valuable opportunity for women to ask questions, seek advice, and learn more about local health services in an informal setting. By offering free screenings and health checks, Crays Collaborative PCN aimed to support early detection of conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, and certain cancers, empowering women to take charge of their health.

Jessica Giwa-Osagie, the Digital and Transformation Lead from Crays Collaborative PCN, shared: “Our Ladies’ Health Night was a fantastic opportunity to bring the community together and highlight the importance of early detection and preventative care. By providing accessible health information and screenings in a relaxed setting, we hope to encourage more women to prioritise their wellbeing and take advantage of local health services.”

If you were not able to attend the Ladies’ Health Night, you can still access health checks, screening services, and wellbeing resources through your local GP practice or the One Bromley Wellbeing Hub.
