On Tuesday 3 December, Bromley Healthcare’s Falls Prevention service marked its 10-year anniversary with a celebration at Bromley Common Baptist Church Hall. The event brought together patients, staff, and special guests, including the Mayor and Mayoress of Bromley, to reflect on the service’s achievements and the difference it has made to the community.
The Falls Prevention Service offers therapy-led support for people at risk of falling to stay safe and live independently at home. Over the past decade, the team has provided vital assessments, rehabilitation, and advice to thousands of patients, helping to reduce hospital admissions and improve quality of life.
Carole Fruin, service lead, said: “It feels incredible to look back on the last 10 years of the service, and to reflect with patients and the team, who work tirelessly to help patients regain confidence and mobility. We are so proud of the positive impact we’ve had on so many lives.”
Patients attending the event shared their testimonials about their experiences. One patient wrote: “[The team] made me follow a programme of rehab at a time when I was feeling very low and the improvement encouraged me. Each visit motivated me and improved my mobility & my mood.”
The Mayor of Bromley also praised the service, saying: “The dedication of this team and the support they provide to residents is truly inspiring. It was wonderful to hear how this service has transformed lives over the past 10 years.”
This celebratory event not only recognised the team’s achievements but also highlighted the ongoing need for services like these to support residents in remaining safe, independent, and active in their communities.
