From today, 15th April, those aged 75 and over and those with a weakened immune system will be able to book their spring COVID-19 vaccination with appointments available from 22 April.
Getting a COVID-19 vaccine is easy with hundreds of appointments available across south east London every day. Bookings can be made online via the NHS App or on the NHS website. Those that can’t get online can call 119 for free where translators will also be available. There are also walk-in sites available across our six boroughs.
The NHS is sending texts, emails, NHS App messages or letters to those who are eligible, but you do not have to wait for the invite to book.
COVID-19 can still be very dangerous and even life-threatening, particularly for older people and those with a weakened immune system. The vaccine gives good protection and helps reduce the risk of serious illness or death, needing to go to hospital, catching and spreading the virus, and protects against different variants.
Today also sees the start of vaccinations for people in older adult care homes and eligible household patients. For those that receive all their care at home, a home visit should be arranged via their GP.
