Vaccines are the most effective way to prevent many infectious diseases. Your GP may have recently contacted you because their records show that you may have an illness or condition that increases your risk of complications from illnesses such as COVID-19. Even if your condition is well managed and/or under control, the NHS still recommend vaccination to increase your protection.

Who Can Get a Free NHS COVID-19 Vaccine?

You are eligible for a free COVID-19 vaccine this Spring if you:

  • are aged 75 or over (including those who will be 75 by 17 June 2025)
  • are aged 6 months to 74 years and have a weakened immune system because of a health condition or treatment
  • live in a care home for older adults

Where to Get Your COVID-19 Vaccine

You can book a COVID-19 vaccination appointment on the NHS website or on the NHS App. You do not need to wait for an invitation before booking an appointment.

Vaccination appointments will take place from 1 April 2025 to 17 June 2025. Some walk in clinics will also be available from this date.
