The ICS has developed its people and communities strategic framework. This outlines our ambition for how we want to work with local people and communities and what we need to put in place to do this. Local people and people working in south east London have been involved in developing this approach. We have tried to address the issues that we heard through the community engagement that took place to inform the development of our approach including:

• We need to build relationships and trust with communities
• We need to make engagement accessible and inviting
• We need to coordinate our engagement better across south east London
• We need to go out to communities and bring the conversation close to people
• We need to recognise the impact that engagement has on people
• We will continue to develop our ways of working in these areas over the next year
