Join us for an exciting series of online Spotlight Sessions exploring research at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust (GSTT).
In this talk, Professor Beverley Hunt will reveal the most recent MBBRACE report shows that venous thromboembolism (VTE) is the number one cause of death in pregnancy and puerperium in the United Kingdom. While there is a systematic approach and guidelines in place to prevent and treat VTE in pregnancy, one is left to conclude the root cause is the dearth of research into VTE in pregnancy, so guidance has extrapolated from medical and surgical practice. Why there has not been adequate research and how we go forward from this difficult place will be discussed.
There will be opportunities to ask the researchers questions.
These sessions are open to all NHS staff across the South East London ICS. Please contact professionalfulfilment@gstt.nhs.uk to register.
