Dr George Verghese

Dr George Verghese, our Partner Member (Primary Care), has been a General Practitioner in Lambeth since 2010. As GP partner in Waterloo Health Centre, he had the privilege of providing care to a vibrant, economically and ethnically diverse registered patient list in the Waterloo area. In 2019 he became clinical director of the North Lambeth Primary Care Network of GP practices. Later, he codeveloped and co-chaired the Lambeth GP clinical cabinet, a collaborative forum that enabled a coherent and united primary care voice into the Lambeth health and social care system. These organisations were major players in Lambeth’s COVID pandemic response, and he was clinical lead in one of England’s first GP COVID vaccine centres.

All of Dr George Verghese’s roles have fostered his appreciation for neighbourhood and place-based working. He is totally committed to the better join up of care around people and communities of south east London. Dr George Verghese is passionate about the health and social care system working closely together to better understand the communities they care for and to co-produce services to support them to thrive.
